THE CHILDREN'S DIVISION

The Children's Division is divided into 3 levels: Pre-Primary, Primary A, and Primary B. These programs are a prelude to formal ballet instruction and introduce children to music and movement through a structured progression that stresses creativity and group interaction.

Boys & Girls are divided into levels by Age. Pre-Primary (3 & 4yrs old), Primary A (5yrs old), and Primary B (6yrs old).

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Primary B
THE NUTRCRACKER
December 2011
San Marcos High School Auditorium

This yearly performance is the traditional full-length production featuring all of our favorite characters: CLARA, THE NUTCRACKER, DROSSELMEYER, THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY, THE ROSE, THE RAT QUEEN and many others. Class levels participating in this ballet are Primary B through the Advanced Class. The performances are held in the theater at San Marcos High School Auditorium.

Pre-Primary and Primary A
THE NUTRCRACKER TUTU SUITE
December 2011
Goleta Valley Community Center

This is a yearly performance for our youngest and oldest dancers. The 4-6 year olds learn a dance to the music from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” and perform it on the GVCC stage. Then mixed in between the dances are the Advanced Class Students doing their variations from our full length Nutcracker. The program is about 30 minutes in length and free to all.

Pre-Primary, Primary A, Primary B

DON QUIXOTE
June 2011
San Marcos High School Auditorium

The entire school participates in this yearly performance held in the San Marcos High School Auditorium. This is a great opportunity for the school to come under one roof to see how the dancers grow and mature each year in their ballet technique. Past performances include The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Giselle and Favorites from Classic Ballets.
